the very fast Wahoo, we call him Guatabana here in the caribbean, reaches over 60Knots of speed on his deadly attacks. Wahoo is found smaller sized 10-20 lbs close to our reefs and in open Blue Water averaging 20-100 lbs, hitting by the way on high trolling speed and also on slow trolling while looking for Dorados along weedlines.
found in temp ranges 70 - 80'F we catch this often as a heavy tackle categorized Fish on 20-30 lbs light tackle, best hit rates are on natural baits like Ballyhoo and Flying Fish, to loose big Lures on a Wahoo's teeth while trolling for Blue Marlins is nothing out of the ordinary.
